Enjoying a special geographical position and advanced facilities and equipment,
the port complex of Shahid Beheshti and Shahid Kalantari is among the leading
ports of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Being considered as the economic gateway to world due to its location on the
Oman Sea shore outside the Hormuz Strait, both two ports shrink the voyage to
Shahid Rajaie port by 200 km and shorten the inland link to CIS countries up
to 100 km, as well.
In the light of the various advantages offered to private
sector, such as the possibility renting warehouses, land and equipment thru
different leases, both Shahid Beheshti and Shahid kalantari ports have succeeded in gaining an outstanding stand among the other nation ports; mean
while, strategically, they provide the most inexpensive and shortest access
to Central Asia and to Middle East.
Facing the Sea of Oman, ports of Shahid Beheshti and Kalantari are situated on the eastern shore of Chabahar Bay, 112 km from Iran-Pakistan border on the east in Guadar Golf and 220 km from Pozm Bay on the west, while Konarak port, on the western shore of Chabahar Bay, is about 70 km far from it.
The mouth of the Bay is 13,5 to 14 km wide and the widest part of that body of water is 19,5 to 20 km between Konarak and Tis.
